This Goethe Institute examination has a writing component (listening, reading, writing – testing grammatical structures and vocabulary) and a speaking section.

Learning outcomes
- Account for and sustain one's opinions in discussion by providing relevant explanations, arguments and comments
- Give a brief talk on a given subject and discuss it with an interlocutor
- Understand interviews, presentations, conversations and discussions (especially in the media)
- Read and understand (globally and in detail) texts such as blogs, newspaper and magazine articles, comments, and written instructions
- Write a clear and structured text (in particular a formal message in a professional context and arguments on a social issue in a forum)
- Be familiar with certain aspects of German culture
- Apply strategies to study and prepare for exams
