Bike workshop

In the event of minor mechanical problems (puncture, broken chain, worn brakes, etc.), the bike workshop Atelier Vélo is the place to get your bike back in top condition quickly and at the lowest possible cost.

Owned by student assistants hired by UNIL and trained in medicine, the bike workshop Atelier Vélo offers a basic repair service, as well as practical support for those who want to learn how to repair their vehicle.

The bike workshop Atelier Vélo is open to members of the university community: its services are free, parts are charged at the cost price.

Hours:

  • Monday: 4pm - 6pm
  • Tuesday:  12am - 2pm
  • Wednesday: 12am - 2pm
  • Thursday: 12am - 2pm and 4pm - 6pm
  • Friday: 12am - 2pm

The workshop is open during class periods.

Velostation

Velostations are locked parking garages that offer protection against theft, vandalism and weather.

Members of the university community have the opportunity to park their cars securely, particularly at night, at weekends and during university holidays.

Registration
  • The right of access to the vélostations is granted to registered students and employees under UNIL contract, subject to availability.
  • Access rights are granted for one academic semester and may be renewed an unlimited number of times.
    • from 1 February to 31 July
    • from 1 August to 31 January
  • Cyclists must park their vehicles in such a way as to ensure easy passage for other cyclists.
  • Parking is the responsibility of the vehicle owners. UNIL accepts no responsibility in the event of theft or damage to the interior of vehicles.

Publibike

Bike sharing is the ideal complement to private and public transport for short distances. It relieves traffic congestion in city centres and makes public transport more attractive.

With around a hundred bicycles distributed across the 12 stations on the UNIL-EPFL campus, PubliBike offers the ideal solution for local transport.

Register with the Campus Card and then borrow a bike or electric bike from PubliBike stations in Switzerland.

Registration open to members of the UNIL community with a valid Campus Card.

Subscription price:

  • annual: CHF 50.-
  • semestrial: CHF 25.-

60 minutes free with each loan, valid at all PubliBike stations in Switzerland

To borrow a bike, all you have to do is go to the myCamipro and CampusCard Services website, log in and select the option "Use your Switch AAI login" and choose "Université de Lausanne".

Cargo bike

UNIL is hosting one of Lausanne's fleet of electric cargo vans.
carvelo2go . Take advantage of this efficient and environmentally friendly mode of transport to move bulky objects.

Members of the UNIL community can hire the cargo bike based at UNIL free of charge.

  • Register with carvelo2go 
  • Send an email to info@carvelo.ch with your @unil.ch address to request activation of free use
  • As soon as you have confirmed your registration, reserve the cargo bike via the carvelo2go application 
  • Collect the keys and battery from the UniSEP service desk.
  • If required, the UniSEP service desk can also provide a cycle helmet.

Bicycle pumps

Riding on good, properly inflated tyres means more safety and less effort.

Take advantage of one of the 5 self-service pumps located throughout the campus to re-inflate your tyres regularly. An electric compressor is available 24 hours a day in front of the Atelier Vélo.
