Administrative, architectural and technical guidelines

University of Lausanne directives and directives specific to the Buildings and Works Department (Unibat), detailed in key documents.

The buildings and infrastructures required for the activities of the University of Lausanne are, in principle, made available by the State of Vaud. They are managed in accordance with the regulations governing the construction, maintenance and management of buildings and infrastructures made available to the University of Lausanne (RCEG-UL). Three parties are involved:

  1. The Direction Générale de l'Enseignement Supérieur (DGES), which oversees and controls the management of the universities under its responsibility.
  2. The Direction Générale des Immeubles et du Patrimoine (DGIP), which, among other things, builds and maintains state-owned buildings.
  3. The University of Lausanne (UNIL)

Depending on the various types of intervention and phases of development, the regulations define the roles and responsibilities of the various players, as summarized in the table below.

The guidelines set out below apply, in principle, to all buildings and infrastructures occupied by UNIL. Project management documents and processes for planned interventions are adapted according to the project structure adopted:

  • For projects under CoPil contracting authority and whose project management is provided by the DGIP, the documents and processes are made available by the DGIP.
  • For projects under CoPil project management and whose project management is provided by UNIL, the documents and processes are provided in document templates for CoPil projects.
  • For projects under UNIL project management and for which the project management is provided by UNIL, the documents and processes are provided in the document templates for UNIL projects
