The CIVIS Unit coordinates the implementation of the objectives and ambitions of the CIVIS European University Alliance at the local level.
The role of the CIVIS Unit is to participate in the establishment of a single university campus where students, teachers, researchers and administrative and technical staff can move and collaborate as freely as in their home institutions. With this in mind, the Unit provides active support and guidance to UNIL's Faculties and departments in the development of the university of the future, covering all of the institution's fundamental missions: teaching, research, innovation and social integration.
CIVIS is a multicultural, multilingual European university formed by an alliance of 11 leading higher-education institutions across Europe. The Alliance aims to tackle the major societal challenges of the 21st century by focusing on five themes:
