Polygraphic apprentices work closely with UNIL's in-house staff to create and prepare text and images for various print and interactive media products. The role involves working with students, assistants, lecturers, secretaries and communications managers on their layout projects.
In addition, the apprentices produce or monitor the production of their own work, either through reprographics or outsourcing.
UNIL is a great institution that offers a variety of opportunities for apprentices. For example, in agreement with your instructor, you can take advantage of additional training on campus or elsewhere. It is also possible to undertake work placements to broaden your knowledge. You will meet many different people at UNIL, learn to work in a multicultural environment and deal with a variety of demands. What's more, you'll be able to produce your own realisations and therefore follow your product throughout the production chain.
To do this job, you need to be familiar with shapes and colours and enjoy working on a computer. You also need to be precise, creative and inquisitive, in order to produce high-quality work that gives the best possible impression. It is also important to be fluent in languages.
