Teaching at Venice International University

UNIL is part of the Venice International University (VIU), an international network of 21 universities based on the island of San Servolo in Venice. A member of the UNIL teaching staff can teach there each semester.

Every year, the partner universities produce a programme aimed at preparing students to tackle current global problems. The autumn semester (September to December) focuses on human and social sciences, while the spring semester (March to May) is dedicated to environmental issues. Classes are held on the island of San Servolo.

The partner universities send a member of teaching staff to VIU on secondment each semester and can send between 10 and 15 students. Classes are delivered in English.
