For UNIL departments and/or sectors that so wish, the UniSEP nursing team can organise group workshops on « Ergonomics ». The aim of these workshops is to provide an interactive, group-based approach to the basic ergonomic aspects of workstation design, particularly for computer workstations. The workshops are led by the occupational health nurse and practical advice is given using a test desk, and a paper brochure is distributed to each participant. Requests for ergonomics workshops must be made by the sector manager and approved by the hierarchy using the appropriate form (see below).
- Target sector : all sectors in which ergonomics-related issues arise regularly and/or in which an ergonomics prevention approach is desired. The workshops are particularly suitable for sectors where several people have made requests to the employer on ergonomic issues.
- Number of participants : Depending on the size of the premises, this number may vary from 3 people à maximum 15 people.
- Length: a workshop runs for approximately 45 minutes. In the event that several sessions are required to meet the needs of all those interested, it is possible to hold them once an hour (a maximum of 3 sessions per half-day).
- The duration of a workshop is approximately 45 minutes.
- Material and premises required : the department requesting the workshops must make available to the facilitators a room large enough to accommodate the groups, in which a « This will consist of a work surface, a desk and a computer (with keyboard and mouse), which will be used to illustrate the advice given live. It is important that the furniture and computer equipment match the participants' workstations as closely as possible.
