Language skills: English and German

In order to provide you with the best possible support during your recruitment processes, in particular to assess the communication skills of candidates in German and English, the Human Resources Department (SRH) and the UNIL Language Centre (CDL) offer you the opportunity to test your candidates at an advanced stage of the recruitment process, using the following procedure:

  • The person handling the recruitment sends a request by e-mail to the Language Centre Manager with the subject line 'Validation of language skills - recruitment'.
  • The teacher responsible for the assessment will contact the person handling the recruitment for more detailed information (level, types of skills, fields, etc.).
  • The teacher responsible makes contact with the candidate and assesses them.
  • The results are forwarded to the person handling the recruitment.
  • As is customary, the service is invoiced to the department or Faculty at CHF 75 per person per internal order.

If the person is hired, the same scheme can be used, if necessary, to create a training plan for language communication skills.

Please note that the SRH plays only an intermediary role here, and that this service is negotiated directly between the CDL and the Faculty or department.

Computer skills: Word and/or Excel

We work with an external partner in order to provide you with the best possible support during your recruitment process, and in particular to assess candidates' computer skills in Word and/or Excel.

As a result, we are pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to test your candidates in the final recruitment phase, using the following procedure:

  • Contact the HR manager responsible for your Faculty or department.
  • Ask for a test to be carried out and specify which programmes are required (one or both).
  • If the person is hired, the same scheme can be used, if necessary, to draw up a training plan for IT skills.

Useful information:

  • The price is CHF 80 per test.
  • The difficulty of each test is progressive, and the candidate passes through all the levels.
  • The results are handed in paper form to the HR manager, who will provide a report to the candidate and to the recruitment manager.
