Overview

The CSE offers teachers support in designing and writing the «Teaching» section of their report. This support takes several forms:

  • The “Writing an activity report or tenure file” training course, organised upon request
  • review of the « Teaching » component of the activity report or tenure file ;
  • ressources for preparing the activity report or tenure file.

General advice

The few general tips we usually give for completing the report's evaluation criteria are as follows:

  • The self-assessment should be based as much as possible on facts or examples. This may include student comments from the evaluation questionnaires, some numerical results from the course evaluations, examples from teaching evaluations, etc; anecdotes told by the teacher, course documents (syllabuses, examples of students' work, slides presented in class, etc.), certificates of attendance in pedagogical training courses, etc.

  • Emphasis should be placed on the ability to stand back and analyse one's teaching experience: How do you analyse feedback from students in evaluating your teaching?How are you going to develop your teaching? What plans do you have to develop your teaching skills (training, carrying out a FIP project, involvement in your department's teaching projects, etc.)?

  • The « Teaching » section of your report is generally between 5 and 10 pages long. Documents may be appended to the report.

  • Please do not hesitate to contact the CSE if you have any questions.
