Signing of a new exchange agreement

Signing an exchange agreement with another university makes it possible to set up student exchanges, but also to obtain financial support for repeat visits by lecturers and researchers. There are two types of agreement:

  • SEMP (Swiss-European Mobility Program) agreements, which are signed with European partners and make it possible to fund teaching activities ;
  • Bilateral agreements, which are signed with partners from all over the world and fund teaching and research activities.

The agreements are signed on the basis of an existing collaboration, with prospects for development in the medium term.

Signature of an SEMP agreement

The SEMP programme (Swiss-European Mobility Programme, which replaces Erasmus in Switzerland) is funded by the Swiss national agency Movetia . It provides funding for teaching activities with universities in the EU.

  • Stay at the partner university for a maximum of 2 weeks.
  • Visit of a colleague from the partner university at UNIL for a maximum of 2 weeks.
  • Exchanges of students and doctoral students for 1 or 2 semesters.
  • Existing and planned long-term collaboration.
  • Proposed joint activities (note that only teaching activities can be supported).
  • Promoting exchange opportunities for students and colleges.
  • If student exchanges, prospects for IN and OUT exchanges

  3. If the faculty supports the project, the SRI will draw up the agreement and have it signed.

Signature of a bilateral agreement

Bilateral agreements fund teaching and research activities with universities around the world. There are:

  • General agreements, concerning the whole of UNIL.
  • Faculty agreements, limited to one faculty.

Once the agreement has been signed, and within the limits of the funds available, the IRO provides financial support for teacher exchanges, and the SASME for student exchanges.
