Your application must include the following as a minimum:

Copies of qualifications, particularly your PhD certificate
The application must also meet the requirements set out in the job advertisement.
A selection committee is appointed to manage the process, whose role includes examining applications and shortlisting candidates for interview.
Shortlsted candidates are invited to at least one interview and asked to give a public lecture to the selection committee.
Following the interviews and the public lecture, the selection committee draws up a report, which is submitted to the Faculty Council via the Dean's Office. Once the report and its proposals have been approved by the Faculty Council, they are forwarded to the Rectorate for a decision.
When the report is submitted to the UNIL Rectorate, the starting salary is set jointly by the Rectorate and the Human Resources Department. As a general rule, the Faculty Director will inform the person selected of their individual salary before their meeting with the Rectorate.
Experience is determined by the period between the date of appointment and the date of completion of the PhD thesis, minus five years.
Where the difference between the date of appointment and the date of completion of the PhD is less than five years (60 months), the starting salary is set at the minimum point on the scale.

The Human Resources Department is responsible for determining salaries.
The Rectorate adopts the conclusions of the committee's report and meets with the candidate to confirm their commitment. The Human Resources Department draws up the employment contract and informs the Welcome Centre in order to prepare for the arrival of the new member of staff.
