Life at UNIL

Living at UNIL means being part of a community of more than 20,000 inhabitants, organised in a sustainable way around state-of-the-art infrastructures and favouring space-time to move, think, inform, cultivate, share and recharge.

Lockers

Free of charge and self-service, they can be found in the offices of UNIL'Anthropole, Internef, Unithèque, Geopolis and Amphipôle. They are available to people who lock them with a personal padlock. Any UNIL student or staff member may have a locker, subject to availability.

The lockers must be emptied by the user by 12 noon on 15 July and will be available again from 12 noon on 15 August.

Important: padlocks left on doors, even when open, will be forced out and not replaced.

In accordance with articles 35 and 55 al.1 of the Public Health Act of 29 May 1985, UNIL is required to comply with certain hygiene, cleanliness and safety standards. As a result, Unibat is cleaning all the lockers on the Dorigny campus.

In the event that the locker must be forced by the Unibat service, the belongings will be placed in a bag, which will be sealed and then kept for one year. After this period, the bag will be destroyed.

To return your personal belongings, please contact Unisep on +41 21 692 25 55

Culture

At the heart of the campus, La Grange, Centre / Arts et Sciences / UNIL is a theatre and a centre for research and experimentation. Each season, artists, researchers and the public work together to imagine new explorations through stories of today and tomorrow, through collaborations between the arts and sciences.

The University of Lausanne offers Les Accroches, captivating exhibitions combining science and culture to arouse visitors' curiosity and critical thinking. These interactive and educational events explore various scientific themes through artistic and innovative perspectives, offering an enriching experience for all ages.

To encourage collaboration and dialogue between the worlds of science and society, UNIL's Culture and Science Outreach Service offers a wide range of activities tailored to different audiences (schoolchildren, adults, families, associations, businesses). In both the life and environmental sciences and the humanities and social sciences, a wide range of workshops in a variety of original formats invite the public to immerse themselves in the world of science, to experiment and debate the issues facing society today and to gain a better understanding of the world of tomorrow.

Campus and sustainability

Soft mobility
UNIL combines mobility and multimodal transport to help you get around campus more easily and take your time when commuting to and from campus.

Walks
Guided walks at the start of the academic year, suggested routes to (re)discover the campus. You can also organise your own themed walk.

The sheep

The sheep that graze on the campus grounds have become one of its strong symbols. Efficient shearers, woolly mascots of the ecological transition, they have all the charms. They cultivate the open-air image of a campus that combines cutting-edge research with agri-ecological byways.

The UNIL shop

Umbrellas, mugs, pens, clothing, stationery, computer cases, collectors' items… the campus shop offers you a wide choice of products for everyday use as well as a selection dedicated to conferences.
